Thermal analysis for LiFePO4 power battery based on finite element analysis

Abstract: This paper researched on the temperature field characteristics of LiFePO4 power battery used in electric vehicles (EV) at various discharge ratio, by ANSYS software based on emulated calculation and finite element method. The results showed that the highest temperature of the batteries were 34.3629℃ for 1C, 53.7926℃ for 2C, 83.3099℃ for 3C, respectively. Water-cooling was the best way to cool the battery. This paper provided basis for the design and temperature field test of battery.
