Analysis of economic benefits and risks of energy storage project under financial leasing model

Abstract: The economic benefit of energy storage projects is one of the important factors restricted the application of energy storage systems. Its business model is closely related to the investment economic analysis. Given the structure and profitability of an energy storage project the relevant economic indicators such as internal rate of return and investment payback period are calculated and explained based on the analysis of the related policies and development status of domestic energy storage system. Further, since energy storage projects have commercial financing difficulties, this paper has introduced a direct financing lease model to evaluate the economics of projects under the low-cost procurement advantages of financial leasing companies.Through analysis, we can see that the introduction of the financial leasing model can ease the financial pressure of the company in previous years and improve the economic benefits of the project.
