Abstract: In this study, the synthesis of the spinel structure lithium manganese oxide (LiMn2O4) by supercritical-hydrothermal (SH) accelerated solid state reaction (SSR) route is reported. The effects of the reaction pressure, temperature and the calcination temperature on the purity, morphology and electrochemical properties of the prepared LiMn2O4materials were studied. The experimental results showed that the prepared LiMn2O4 materials with 15 minutes reaction in the SH route at 400 ℃ and 30 MPa with additional 3 h calcinations at 700 ℃ exhibited good crystallinity, uniform size distribution and good electrochemical performance. The initial specific capacity reached 125 mA·h/g at 0.1 C, and good cycle performance was shown after 50 cycles at 1 C.
